If you don't know what this is all about, no need to worry because we'll tell you: with this module repository on your phone you can check out new functionalities on Android KitKat, Lollipop 5.1, Marshmallow, Oreo or Nougat 7.0 and 7.1 without having to mess around with the device's ROM, therefore, the process is totally reversible, unlike what happens when we flash our smartphone with a ROM like Cyanogenmod, for instance.
In other words, it's a tool that will allow you to customize your Android smartphone modifying certain aspects that aren't at everyone's reach: icons, LEDs, button actions...
How to use Xposed Framework
The first thing is to root our phone to become the superuser of the device on which we want to install Xposed Framework. Then we just have to download the APK of Xposed Installer, run it and access the different modules available. There are thousands of them, but probably the best place to find them all is the XDA forum, the community of mobile software developers. However, you're not going to be able to download Xposed from Google Play (although you will find apps with modules).
What modules can be installed with Xposed Installer?
There are dozens of them with different functions and several advantages. For instance, GravityBox, with which we can modify any aspect of the interface and even the lighting of each application. But also others of the likes of Amplify Battery Extender to extend the battery life and optimize our resource usage, Xprivacy to control absolutely every single aspect of our device's privacy, WhatsApp custom apps without needing to download WhatsApp Plus, Awesome Pop-up Video to paly videos in PiP mode with a floating window, and others that allow us to make the most of the functions of the newest versions of Android that are still at beta stage on our operating system.
